What’s New on The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB?
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB’S “REGIONAL RESOURCES” Are Just About “Ready to Roll”!
Following the registration of our first print-based magazine — a regional lifestyle magazine entitled “Living Out East and On The Bay”, based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida — (an up-scale community in close proximity to Sarasota, on the western shores of the “Sunshine State”) — I found myself faced with the prospect of “more development work to do” on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB. — Work that I really wasn’t planning to do until much later… but that I felt really needed to be done, in order to adequately deal with the large number of “REGIONAL” Magazines that I will undoubtedly encounter (in rather large numbers), as I begin moving to introduce the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB to magazine publishers across the United States, and around the globe.
For two whole weeks, and with many a scornful look from my wife — (who relentlessly chides me for being too much of a perfectionist) — I once again found myself spending 14 to 20 hours per day, fleshing out the specific manner in which the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB will handle “REGIONAL” Magazines and Media.
I had always known that the “Regional” aspects of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB would be an altogether different dimension for the Hubsite. — One that would provide the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB’S Users the ability to venture into, and explore — every nook and cranny of the geographic media landscape… by making it possible for people to search magazines and media geographically by COUNTRY… STATE or PROVINCE… COUNTY… CITY… TOWN… or even by VILLAGE.
— However, this was not a dimension I really wanted to get into, until I had some other web designers working with me on the project, and until we had reconstitued the current site using a more advanced web development platform, as well as had some money to invest into more technologically advanced programming, techniques, and features, for the Hubsite.
MAG-NET’S “WORLD-WIDE SEARCH PAGE”
Nonetheless… I developed and established the starting point of the geographic search features — the WORLD-WIDE SEARCH Page… which lists ALL of the “Nations of the World” , but currently provides links to just one — the United States of America.
— In doing so, I also took great care to add links to a good number of international agencies and resources (nearly 85 sites in all) that people might find useful when looking at the world from a “world-wide perspective”.
These links — which are towards the bottom of the page — include links to the official websites of The United Nations… The International Monetary Fund… The World Trade Organization… The Olympic Committee… The Nobel Prize Committee… and The Miss World Pageant… to name a few.
— In all, it’s a long list of links to valuable information from international agencies and resources that have great influence in (and over) the world as we know it. — Therefore… besides being the “First Step” in exploring the world of REGIONAL Magazines and Media World-Wide, on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… — In it’s own right — MAG-NET’S Worldwide Geographic Search Page also offers a great learning experience, and a chance to broaden one’s intellectual horizons and knowledge of what’s happening on the world stage.
MAG-NET’S “USA PAGE”
The second page I added, was the Regional Page for the United States of America… (or the USA Page). — Actually, though… this wasn’t a page addition at all… as I simply took the “only” original Category Page that I had previously set up for “Regional Magazines” (on the Hubsite) and turned it into a Directory Page within the Geographic System Framework.
— Because we only have a handful of 100 or so Regional Magazines on the Hubsite (and on this page) at this time… I decided to just go ahead and leave them on the page for now… and decided that I would make placement of one’s regional magazine — under it’s appropriate state or territory (on the page) — a purchaseable option for magazines that would wish to take advantage of it.
—As I expect to add THOUSANDS of Regional Publications to the system, over the coming years — keeping them all on this page would be virtually impossible… or at the very least — extremely redundant and unnecessary, and therefore not worth the trouble.
— As for “National Resource Links” at the bottom of the page (the way I added links to international agencies and resources on the World-Wide Page)… — At present — I haven’t added them yet. However, I will do so as soon as I get a chance, or have some interested parties wanting to advertise on the page. However, at the present moment — I have much more pressing business to attend to, so I presently can’t say for sure when I’ll be able to take the time to address that particular situation.
One thing I did add to the USA Page, however, was — U.S. TERRITORIES!
— Here in “The States” , we often forget about the people and communities that inhabit those territorial areas of the United States, that are not officially incorporated “STATES” of the U.S. — or “STARS” on the U.S. Flag.
In adding territories to the page (using Wikipedia as my primary source materials) I conducted a great deal of research into America’s outlying territories, and learned that there too existed sizeable communities that were vibrant, and similarly connected to the rest of the nation and the world… through magazines, newspapers, radio, television, and of course — the internet. — And I just felt that — here, on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — we weren’t going to leave them out… or allow them to be forgotten… as true peoples of the United States of America. — I decided I was going to try to use this opportunity to provide people with greater knowledge about ALL of the lands that exist under the U.S. Flag. — Among them:
Puerto Rico – Population: 3.8 Million – Capital: San Juan - Check out Puerto Rico on Wikipedia.
The U.S. Virgin Islands – Population: 110,000 – Capital: Charlotte Amelie - Wikipedia: U.S. Virgin Islands.
Guam – Population: 178,000 – Capital: Hagatna - Wikipedia: Guam
The Northern Mariana Islands - Population: 87,000 – Capital: Capital Hill – Wikipedia: N. Mariana Islands
American Samoa – Population: 67,000 – Capital: Pago Pago – Wikipedia: American Samoa
— and MORE! (Check out U.S. Territories on Wikipedia)
Take this opportunity that the USA Page provides, to learn more about the United States and it’s many peoples and communities… and don’t forget about our non-state, territorial neighbors as well.
MAG-NET’S “STATE PAGES“
Of course… MAG-NET’S “USA PAGE” provides links to state and territory-specific pages, within the framework of MAG-NET’S Geographic-Based System. — At the present time, however… there are only TWO Active States on the page. — Those being FLORIDA and OHIO. (— FLORIDA — so I could adequately flesh out the system for our new “regional registrant” from the Sarasota area… — and OHIO — because I figured that as long as I was doing it for a small community in Florida… I might as well do it for the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB’S little hometown city of Fostoria, Ohio as well.)
The State Pages allow users to view all regionally-focused and/or regionally-published magazines, that are published within the state — right there on the state page — but also provide users the opportunity to “Search by County” or “Search by Municipality”, as well… when they click on the appropriate buttons.
THE “COUNTY DIRECTORY” AND “MUNICIPALITY DIRECTORY” PAGES
By clicking on the “Search by County” button, the user is taken to the State’s County Directory Page, where they will find a complete list of all of the counties located within that particular state… along with population information, other county-specific information, maps showing where each county is located within the boundaries of the state, and — of course — links to Active County Pages.
For quicker navigation to a specific County Page — a simple list of “County Page Links” is located in the upper right-hand column of the page, allowing users to avoid having to seek out a specific county on the rather long central column, that contains the county information and maps. — Using the quick list… users can quickly and easily navigate to the MAG-NET Local Pages for those counties within the state, with which they might already be familiar.
Similary, a State’s Municipal Directory Page lists all of the Cities, Towns, Villages, and Unincorporated Communities, within the state… along with indicating which county within the state, each particular municipal area is located… as well as links to the “MAG-NET Local Pages” for those cities, towns and other areas.
The State Pages, County Directory Pages, and Municipal Directory Pages, offer great state-county-city-related advertising opportunities, for businesses and organizations of all types. — Especially in the areas of tourist attractions… events like festivals and concerts… and advertisements for professional sports teams, sporting events, etc.
The MAG-NET “LOCAL PAGES” — ”COUNTY PAGES” and “MUNICIPALITY PAGES”. — Getting into the Nooks and Crannies…
As mentioned above, MAG-NET’S ”State Pages” offer the Hub’s Users the opportunity to search magazines and media “By County”, as well as “By Municipality”. It is these two “types” of pages within MAG-NET’S Geographic-Based System, that constitute MAG-NET’S “Local Pages”.
While the County Pages allow users to break down a state’s “Media Spectrum” into magazines, tv stations, radio stations and programs, newspapers, etc. — that serve specific county-based areas within each state — The MAG-NET Geographic-Based System allows for each City, Town, Village, or Unincorporated Area (within a State, or within any “County within a State”) — to have it’s own “Municipal Page” (or “Local Page”).
What that means is that a MAG-NET User can (or should I say — will be able to) click on a link to effectively go to any County, City, Town, Village, (or even smaller area), within ANY State or Territory in the United States… and it will be like “taking a trip” to that particular State, County, City, Town, or Local Village!
— For instance — By going to the Manatee County Page in Florida… you will find links to the official websites of ALL of the MAGAZINES and NEWSPAPERS that are published within the borders of that county, or that focus on local lifestyles and news, for areas within the county… and you will also similarly find links to the official websites of all of the LOCAL TELEVISION NETWORKS and RADIO STATIONS and OTHER MEDIA TYPES that serve, or are otherwise available within the Manatee County Area of Florida, as well!
— What makes this even more exciting is that each County Page will also provide access to links to ALL of the official WEBSITES and CONTACT INFORMATION for ANY BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS, or INDIVIDUALS — (through it’s soon to be attached directory pages) — that are based in, or serve, the County Area… and will provide local businesses with a new “No-Cost to Low-Cost” Advertising Channel, capable of being ”tailored to precisely fit” the marketing needs, desires, and budgets, of any organization!
— And as for the “Municipal” Local Pages? (See the Lakewood Ranch FL or Fostoria OH Pages) — The MAG-NET Geographic-Based System breaks that same capability down to EVERY City… Town… Village… or Unincorpated Area or Community… WITHIN any County, or State, or Territory, within the United States of America! — So, what we’re talking about is TRUE “LOCAL INTERNET COVERAGE”… on a scale, and in a way… that’s never even been remotely attempted before!
I mean, think about it for a moment… — From ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! — a visitor to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB will be able to use MAG-NET’S Geographic-Based System to access even the “smallest community’s” MAG-NET Local Page, and access ALL of the same local media resources… government resources… business resources… educational resources… local history information… tourist attractions… etc. — that are specifically available on the internet, to individuals living within those communities! — The MAG-NET Local Pages will not only provide local inhabitants with easier access on the internet to information, news, and resources — available within their own local communities — but will provide that same level of access to anyone else in the world! — And, will likewise… provide any local inhabitant, the ability to similarly explore any other community in the world, as well!
With MAG-NET Local and MAG-NET’S Geographic-Based System — what we are literally talking about is taking Google Local and Yahoo Local, and every other kind of “Local” Online… and literally multiplying their capabilities in servicing the local informational needs of communities everywhere… BY A HUNDRED FOLD!
Now, Sure — When you consider WHERE the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB currently resides in it’s own development, as both a business and as a web-based search resource… — Sure… it’s a far-reaching goal… — Sure… it’s going to take a long time… — Sure… it’s going to take a lot of hard work… — And, sure… it’s going to take a whole lot of money… — But hey! — Isn’t it TRUE that the United States needs to create MILLIONS OF NEW JOBS, for it’s MILLIONS of displaced workers? — Isn’t it TRUE that our national and world economies need to be expanded beyond the traditional industries of manufacturing, finance, education, and governmental services… to more heavily expand into informational technologies and computers… the sciences… and the development of new businesses and services? — Well… Here’s our chance!
— Algorithmic Search Technology and new programming techniques that make processes more efficient are great… — But, if something can be done more effectively, and with more positive economic impact on the people of the United States and the World — through the use of techniques that are more labor-intensive and require greater human interaction… — isn’t it a shame to simply cling to those “so-called” and often “self-proclaimed” TECHNOLOGICAL IMPROVEMENTS that seem to only pad the pockets of a select few, at the expense of everybody else?
This is why I have chosen to “farm out” the work of developing the MAG-NET Local Pages, to individuals and organizations that are located INSIDE of EACH of the “local areas” (which is EVERY local area and community across the U.S., and around the world) that we seek to turn into “MAG-NET Local Pages” on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB.
LOOKING FOR A JOB, ANYONE?
In essence… I am offering up licenses and franchises to ANY individual or organization that might wish to handle the majority of the “Local Development Field Work” associated with MAG-NET’S Geographic-Based System, within their local areas.
Basically… I’m looking to connect with individuals who want to take on the job of physically going out into their local communities… meeting with business owners, managers, and local media entities… (to explain what we are collectively trying to accomplish with the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and MAG-NET Local…) — And sell advertising on, and otherwise develop… their area’s MAG-NET Local Pages… as well as become the acting liasion between the businesses within their local areas and communities, and the entire MAG-NET MEDIA HUB System.
I am working to create something unique, and ultra-powerful, and ultra-COOL on the internet… through everything I am trying to bring to market through The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and MAG-NET Local. But I can’t do it alone.
— That’s why I need to connect and ally myself with other professionally-minded visionaries — maybe someone like YOURSELF! — in Nations, States, Cities, Towns, and Villages, across the U.S. and around the world. — People that would truly like to have the opportunity to connect their hometown areas to the world, through the internet, and through the systems offered through The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, and MAG-NET Local.
Are you someone who could dedicate their professional life and time to such a task?
Are you ready to partner with the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and create a local business for yourself? — A business that is capable of challenging you to your professional core… putting you on a first-name basis with every business owner and entrepreneur in your local area… and providing you the potential to earn an above-average income, limited only by your skills, and talent, and perserverence?
— If so… contact me via the Contact MAG-NET Form on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE. — Because I would love to talk with you.
If NOT… then sit back and prepare yourself for all of the exciting things that are about to happen… on the World Wide Web, and in Your Local Community. — Because no matter how long it might take… and no matter how hard we might have to work… The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and MAG-NET Local is going to be coming to your home town… eventually ! — It’s just a matter of time, and a matter of “WHO” will be bringing MAG-NET LOCAL to YOUR Local Area.
— Maybe… if it doesn’t sound like an opportunity that’s right for you — maybe you know someone with integrity and drive, who might be up to the challenge and might possibly be interested. — If so… please tell them about the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and this blogpost, and have them get in contact with me, if they might be interested.
Best Wishes to All and Thank You for your time and consideration!

————————-
THE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE
Now, why exactly am I bringing this information to YOUR attention, as the publisher of a print-based magazine?
— To reinforce something that I’m sure you already know all too well. — And that is the fact that the internet is HUGE!… it continues to GROW as an informational and media format and channel… and it is a medium that your print-based magazine MUST come to grips with — and learn to use to your advantage — if your title and brand is to ultimately survive, many years into the future.
Now, you might be sitting there saying to yourself — “Our magazine already has a website on the web… we are already present within the internet marketplace… and we are already offering content, and tapping into our markets on the web.”
YES, you probably do… and YES you probably are. — And, if you’re not… then you are not only overlooking an opportunity to effectively market your brand on the most predominate and fastest-growing marketing channel of the day — but you are also missing the boat (at your peril), by failing to position your brand amongst those who will be servicing YOUR informational, editorial, and content markets on the web — today… and into the future.
— However, if your magazine DOES have an “Official” website associated with it — that either you produce yourself, or have someone else produce on your behalf — the questions you need to be asking yourself are:
- Are you satisfied with the amount of user traffic that your magazine’s website is getting?
- Is your magazine’s website profitable on it’s own?
- Is your magazine’s website considered to be a drain on company resources, rather than a profit center?
- Do you consider it a marketing expense, rather than a revenue stream?
- Is the cost of driving traffic to your magazine’s website (through SEO, sponsored search, online advertising, etc.) more than what your website generates in revenues?
- Are the revenues you are generating from online advertising on your website, substantial enough to support the ongoing needs and expenses of your organization?
- Is your website having the desired impact?
- Is it creating brand recognition, or driving new subscription sales and individual copy sales for your print-based publications?
- Are you getting the kind of market penetration on the web, that you would like to have?
- Is your market on the web able to find your magazine’s official website on the web, easily enough?
- In marketing your magazine’s website on the web, are you getting any credit for having a print-based magazine in the streets, or are you having to compete (online) on an equal basis with online-only magazines and blogs, that have fewer (if any) revenue-generation requirements?
Now, if you can answer ANY of the above bulleted points, negatively — you’ve got to recognize that you’ve not only got your work cut out for you, but that the current channels you are using to market your magazine’s website online, are sorely lacking. — They just simply ARE NOT UP TO PAR WITH THE JOB AT HAND.
Now, you can go and spend THOUSANDS and even TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS or more each month on online advertising and SEO, and continue hoping that such investments might eventually pay off…
— Or you can continue moving forward — hoping beyond hope — that the little bit that you might be doing to market your magazine’s official website online, will be enough…
— Or you can even bury your head in the sand, continue to say to yourself that this whole internet thing is just a bad dream, or that it’s long-term effects on your print-based magazine will be inconsequential…
But, what if I told you that you could throw A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR TIME, and maybe A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR MONEY (because it doesn’t even have to cost you a dime, but we could sure use your help in those regards!), into banding together with your fellow compatriots in the print-based magazine publishing industry, to help me in developing a NEW INTERNET RESOURCE that will not only bring the print media industry to the fore-front of the media spectrum on the web — but one that will hold PRINT-BASED MAGAZINE BRANDS out, as being the Premier Media Brands in each media market, and make it HUNDREDS OF TIMES EASIER for people to find your magazine’s official website, on the World Wide Web?
Would you be willing to do that? Would you be willing to invest a little bit of your time and money into helping to create such a resource?
If so, then you need to check out what we’re trying to do with The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… “The World’s New Gateway to the World of Magazines, Periodicals, and Media Online” . — A new Directory-Based Search Engine that seeks to make it “Easier… More Enjoyable… and Much More FUN & EXCITING — for People Everywhere — to “Explore LIFE and the World Around Them” through the World of Magazines and Media Online.”
Even though a trip to the active version of our prototype site at http://www.mag-netmediahub.com (the version that’s waiting to get filled up with magazine covers) might make you think so — The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is NOT just a run-of-the-mill website… It IS designed to be an internet search engine and online media portal.
While the world often thinks of search engines as being only of the “algorithmic” variety — like Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and others — The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is of the “directory-based” variety. — Meaning that, rather than having a computer-generated robot returning search results based on what IT electronically feels is most relevant, based on keywords that the user types into the search box — with directory-based search engines like the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — the directories are man-made and users must manually navigate the directories themselves, and seek out the exact site or types of sites, that they might be looking for — using the directory system provided.
Now, on the surface — one could easily say that — “Oh! — People are never going to want to use something like that! — Not when they can just do a keyword search on Google or Yahoo… do it more quickly… and get the results returned to them automatically! — People are lazy! — There’s just no way people will ever use it!”
— But that’s like saying that people would never use a stove or barbecue grill, when they can just nuke their food in a microwave… — Or that people would never want to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids, when they can just sit at home and see them on the History Channel… — Or that people would never buy the higher-priced bag of Doritos, when they can get a similar off-brand version, for 50% less! — OR… that people would never want to buy magazines in print, when they can just find the same information online for free!
People are looking for quality and experience, equally as much as they are looking for speed and convenience. — And when the fast, convenient, and inexpensive model doesn’t produce the results that a person wants… they’re out there looking for, using, and “adopting” — the more premium model that they can count on, to do the job right! — That’s why I KNOW FOR SURE that people will use The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… if we can just finish developing what I envision for the HUBSITE, and generate enough in the way of revenues (from magazine publishers, other media sites, and other advertisers), to properly market Hub to the masses.
— As with everything in business… the key is marketing your products and services effectively… — And so it is with the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, in the World of Search Engines, Web Portals, and the World of Online Media…
So, how does The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB work?
Without going into so much detail that I bore you to sleep… regurgitate information from previous posts, or from the Hubsite’s “About MAG-NET” or “iNFO for Publishers” pages… or give up my secrets to would-be competitors — the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is first and foremost designed to “Bridge the Gap” between the algorithmic search engines and the “World of Magazines and Media Online…” — Overcoming the necessity for magazines to invest heavily into (or rely on) SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO) or other forms of online promotion, in order for their official websites to be easily found online, by their targeted readers.
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB does this by making it extremely easy to find the “OFFICIAL” websites of magazines on the Hubsite, by making it possible for it’s users to seek out titles ALPHABETICALLYor BY CATEGORY OF INTEREST… through it’s Alphabetical Listing Pages… or through its 155 (and growing) Category Pages that span virtually every category of interest known to man! (Basically… if you publish a print-based magazine, there’s a Category Page on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, where your magazine will be a fit. However, an incredible number of Sub-Category Pages will be coming, that will put “links to YOUR magazine” right in the middle of your precise market niche!)
Now, as far as the “Bridging the Gap” part goes… consider this: If the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB makes it extremely fast and easy to find ANY magazine online, via it’s full complement of magazine directories… it only stands to reason that IF the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — supported by the combined and leveraged power of the entire print-based magazine publishing industry — comes up at the top of the search results on Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc. — every time someone types in the words “magazine” or “media” — then the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB will definitely be the fastest and easiest way to find ANY print-based magazine on Google, Yahoo!, or Bing. — Wouldn’t you say? — Well, that’s what I mean when I say that the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB has been designed to “Bridge the Gap” between the algorithmic search engines and the “World of Magazines Online!”.
Secondly, the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is also designed in such a way as to be desirable as one’s browser homepage — so that when someone goes to get on the internet on their computer, the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB will be the first thing that they see.
Using the same type of hierarchical structure that each of the algorithmic search engines use, by basically placing themselves at the center of their own internet universes, then providing outbound links to every known website on the internet — the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB does the same thing… effectively subjugating ALL other websites… web-based resources and applications… and search engines (including Google and Yahoo) within the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB INTERNET UNIVERSE! — Making it possible to GO ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET THAT SOMEONE MIGHT WANT TO GO — right there… directly from The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB HOMEPAGE! — So, in this respect… the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is not only designed to be a directory-based search engine that people can use to more easily surf the official websites of magazines and other media-related sites online — it is also designed to be a dashboard… or interface… or multi-dimensional internet portal… or internet “stargate”… (whatever you want to call it) … that makes it possible for anyone to do whatever they might want to do on the internet — through or from — ANY PAGE on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE!
— Now, that is SUPER POWERFUL STUFF! IT JUST DOESN’T GET ANYMORE POWERFUL THAN THAT, DOES IT!
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB actually takes Google, Yahoo, Bing, AOL, and ASK.com — along with many of the internet’s most popular and respected internet resources — like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Ebay, Wikipedia, and others — and “hitches them up like a team of horses” on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB Homepage — to make the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB effectively the FASTEST… EASIEST… and MOST ENJOYABLE WAY — TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO — ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB!
So what does this all mean for the magazine publishing industry?
It means that with the industry’s support, the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB can put the Print-Based Magazine Publishing Industry at the FOREFRONT OF THE MEDIA SPECTRUM in our little (but potentially over-powering) corner of the internet universe — and make finding YOUR MAGAZINE on the World Wide Web as fast, and easy, and as inexpensive for you, as it can possibly be!
So, what do I need from YOU — Mr. or Ms. Magazine Publisher?
1.) WE NEED YOU TO GET YOUR MAGAZINE REGISTERED WITH THE MAG-NET MEDIA HUB.
- —– It doesn’t cost you anything to get your magazine registered…

These are all FREE LISTING OPTIONS that your magazine is entitled to on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — that carry NO SETUP FEES or RUNNING COSTS to you!

Just as any qualifying website would be entitled to free listings on any of the other search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) — these listing options are made FREELY available to you — not just for YOUR benefit — but for the benefit of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB’S users. But don’t think for a minute that they’re not valuable to you, just because they’re free and you don’t have to pay for them. These free options are VERY valuable to you! It’s just that this is the way we have to do it, so we can eventually get EVERY MAGAZINE KNOWN TO MAN listed on the the Hub. — Therefore, the way we have to do it is make it FREE!
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is a media search engine that seeks to provide the internet community with a means of easily finding links to EVERY magazine and media site known to man. And your magazine will be listed on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — for the benefit of our users — whether you want your magazine to be listed on the hubsite, or not — or whether you ask us to list it on the hubsite, or not. We will be listing ALL magazines on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, that we find out about — to make them easily “findable” by those who choose to visit and use our hubsite.
We simply ask that you register your magazine with the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, so you can make whatever changes you would like to make to the way that we have listed (or will list) your magazine on the Hubsite — AFTER we have verified beyond reasonable doubt that we are truly dealing with the publishers of YOUR magazine(s), and not someone who is trying to wrongfully claim that status, for whatever diabolical reason that one might be able to think up.
3.) WE NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT OUR PREMIUM PLACEMENT OPTIONS AND PROMOTIONAL OPTIONS, AND SEE WHICH OPTIONS (IF ANY) YOUR MAGAZINE MIGHT WISH TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF, ON THE MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE.
There are many options available to you, that you can use to make YOUR magazine stand out from your competitors, and be more noticeable on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB. However, these options (of course) come with a price.
So, once we’ve got your magazine registered and properly set-up in regards to your FREE listing options on the Hub — we’ll tell you about all of additional low-cost to premium-cost promotional options that you can choose from, and employ on the hubsite, and find out if there are any that you would like to use.
4.) IF YOU WILL NOT BE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ANY OF OUR LOW-COST TO PREMIUM PROMOTIONAL OPTIONS — WE NEED YOU TO GIVE SERIOUS CONSIDERATION TO THE IDEA OF PROVIDING US WITH YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT THROUGH A ONE-TIME OR PERIODIC DONATION…
Just like YOUR magazine… We are limited to what we can do, by the amount of financial resources that we have at our disposal.
At the time of this writing (April 10, 2011), we have absolutely NO FINANCIAL RESOURCES, and must pursue our vision for the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, with whatever we can find for free, or at extremely low cost. — i.e. – software… phone service… development assistance… etc. —– as well as TIME —– (because we can only work on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB’S development in our spare time, while we work other jobs.)
While we are open to investment, and are interested in possibly entering into a deal with angel investors who would like to be part of the opportunity that the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB represents — we must continue moving the project forward under the assumption that NO investment deals will ultimately come forward. — Meaning… that we are not going to allow anything as trivial as “lack of money”, to keep us from bringing our ultimate vision for the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, to fruition. It just means that we must rely on our ability to convey the future benefits of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, to the magazine publishing industry, and hope that individual magazine publishers like yourselves, will choose to support us financially until the business can stand on it’s own.
Does an artist choose not to create something that he’s inspired to create, simply because nobody but himself is paying for the canvas or the paints?
No, he uses whatever he can, to bring his grand vision to life, and to the world… lives off of other projects, and the generosity of patrons who believe in his work — and hopes in the end that his vision and the thing that he has created — bedazzles the world, and leaves a lasting impression on mankind! — The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is no different.
So, if you believe in our work — please support it generously by utilizing the premium promotional options that we’ve assembled for you, or by providing us with one-time or periodic donations, that will help to develop the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB into the amazing and world-changing resource that we know it is destined to become!
- Donations can be sent in the form of a check via mail to: The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB – 1004 N. Union Street – Fostoria, Ohio – 44830 – USA
- Donations can also be made via PayPal Services, using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or your Bank Card, from the iNFO For Publishers Page of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB!
- Any and all donations that you make to this effort, will likewise be credited to your magazine’s advertising account, and will be applicable to any advertising on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, that your magazine might want to utilize in the future. Therefore, if you don’t want to think of it as a donation… or can’t justify the expense as a donation — you can always consider it a non-refundable “pre-paid advertising credit”!
5. LAST BUT NOT LEAST — WE WOULD VERY MUCH APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE THAT YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE, IN HELPING WITH THE CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF THE MAG-NET MEDIA HUB!
- As a magazine publisher, or as someone who works in the magazine publishing industry — you probably personally know other magazine publishers, or people who work in the magazine publishing industry. — If so, please spread the word about the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB and what we’re working to bring to the internet, on behalf of the print-based magazine publishing industry. — Do what you can to encourage other magazine publishers to come to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE… get their magazines registered… and get their magazines properly set up on the Hub! — The faster we can assemble a large enough contingent of magazines capable of leveraging enough combined resources to launch a MASSIVE MARKETING CAMPAIGN aimed at THE MASSES — the faster you will have a resource (in the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB) that will be able to effectively increase the “Footprint on the Web” of your magazine’s official website! — So, please… SPREAD THE WORD!
- If you would be interested in providing us with a back-link on your magazine’s official website (which would be greatly appreciated!)… go to the iNFO for Publishers Page at the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… scroll down the page… and in the left-hand column, you will find a variety of JPEG images that are emblazoned with a seal that says “MAG-NET MEDIA HUB Association Member”. — If you will, have your webmaster copy and paste one of these images to your website, with a back-link to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB Homepage (at http://www.mag-netmediahub.com). — By doing so, you are not only going to be adding a little bit of additional “bling” to your website, and stating your affiliation to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB Network of Magazine Publishers, for all of the internet universe to see… — but you are going to be providing a valuable back-link to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE that will quite possibly have a profound effect on the Hubsite’s page ranking on the algorithmic search engines, and assist us in greatly minimizing the amount of online advertising that the Hub will have to do, to come up at the top of the search results, as mentioned earlier in this article. — So, please… go to the iNFO for Publishers Page and “Get Your Bling!”
- While your assistance in these regards will eventually be quite helpful (when we are ready to launch the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB “Officially”) — please refrain from publishing any extensive press releases that might drive large amounts of “User Traffic to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE — as much development work is still required before we will be ready to receive “throngs” of visitors. — We need to get at least 1,500 magazine covers added to the pages of the Hub, before we can consider it ”open for business”. Otherwise, visitors are going to be sadly disappointed with the media search experience that they find there. — First impressions, as you know — ARE EVERYTHING! — and we would very much like people’s first impressions of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB to be “WOW!” — So, please… help us preserve that WOW! Factor, by not publishing any press releases aimed at the consumer market, until AFTER we say we are ready for it.
Thank you for your time and consideration, and Welcome to the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB — “The World’s New Gateway to the World of Magazines, Periodicals, and Media Online…”
And again — If you have any questions: You are invited to ask them by Leaving a Comment, Leaving a Reply, or Posting a Comment on this BlogPost, and I will reply to it within the post (if possible)… or you can contact us securely and privately via our CONTACT PAGE on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUBSITE.
Thanks Again… and Happy Hub Surfing to YOU!

The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB - “Your Gateway to the World of Magazines, Periodicals and Media Online…”
“Your Gateway to the World of Magazines, Periodicals, and Media Online”

As we begin venturing out ourselves into the World of Blogging with The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB BLOGSPOT, I’m sure that many bloggers and blog enthusiasts alike, may feel at least a tiny little hint of angst towards the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, for holding Print-Based Magazines out as being the “Premier Media Form of Choice” on our Hubsite. — The Primary Media Form that takes center stage on the Hub, around which all other media types revolve, in our little corner of the internet universe.
As the Founder, CEO, and Director of Development for the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB, and the person who is solely responsible for the vision and direction that the Hub is taking in its development — I felt that not only was a clarification of our mission in order, but that an explanation of our approach was somewhat necessary as well — in order to put the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB into the proper context for all of our fellow bloggers.
For starters… Yes, we love magazines! — And since the days, years, decades, and centuries — before the rise of the internet — the print-based magazines of the offline world, have played a defining role in the collection, analysis, and dissemination, of news and information to the masses. I think this is something to which we can all agree.
This does not, however, take away from the important role that blogs, bloggers, and blogging, have likewise played, and continue to play, in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of news and information — since the rise of the internet… — or in blogging’s rise to becoming a world-reknowned media format in its own right. In my opinion, both magazine publishing and blogging — as two slightly different, but very much related media formats — are both vital pieces of the evolving media puzzle, that serve society’s informational and news dissemination needs, in this day and age.
Politically speaking — where a great many of the traditional media news outlets (of which print-based magazines are a large part) seem to have declared sides (from an editorial standpoint), and allied themselves politically with either the liberal left, conservative right, or independant middle — blogging, bloggers, and independent blogs, have become an important part of today’s media mix, because they allow many more less powerful, yet competing voices, to enter the fray… and help to bring to light a more realistic portrayal of what the general population believes in, and wants, for their society. This is very important, and is a clear indication of blogging’s importance within today’s media mix.
From an informational standpoint — blogging allows independent experts in their fields to disseminate their knowledge, insights, opinions, and concerns regarding developments within their fields, directly to the masses on the internet, and helps society in identifying who the true experts are in each field — whether they write for an established media outlet, write independently as a blogger, or simply post comments in response to articles or blogs on the internet. This highly interactive approach to information dissemination and debate, that the internet makes possible, makes these times what they are — which is simply the best time… and the best environment… that we could possibly imagine… when it comes to sharing knowledge with one another, as an intellectual species.
From an artistic standpoint — blogs allow the average internet user, who has something to say… a story to tell… or something of possible interest to express to the world — the opportunity to put it out there, and publish it on the web — and share it with the entire world! — And they can do it however THEY want! — There’s no copy editors telling people HOW their stories MUST be written, in order to fit within a specific amount of space… — There’s no more editing because a publisher may not like what someone has to say… — There’s a FREEDOM in blogging, that the internet provides, that unlike any other media format, allows anyone the opportunity to tell their story in the precise way that they want to tell it — without interference. — And that is GREAT, GREAT STUFF! — A real testimony to how far the internet has brought us, in communicating with one another in this day and age!
With all of this said, and with my obvious belief that blogs, bloggers, and blogging, are such an important part of today’s media puzzle — why then do I hold print-based magazines out as being the pinnacle of the media mix, and the center around which all other media forms revolve, on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB? — Because — among other things — when it comes to disseminating news and information, I look at print-based magazines as being the media format that has set the standard for all in-depth, category-based periodicals.
Print-based magazines have been with us for a long time. The first one — “The Gentleman’s Magazine” —
was first published in London in 1731 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magazine). And while newspapers go back even further (1605 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspaper), the magazine format was the first periodical format that allowed writers to provide extensive and in-depth analysis of the news and events, and scientific and technological developments, of their times — and disseminate that formative thinking to those who desired to seek it out.
How can anyone deny the roles that print-based magazines like Time, LIFE, Good Housekeeping, Reader’s Digest, The Saturday Evening Post, National Geographic, McCall’s, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Scientific American, The Atlantic — and a whole slew of others — have played in driving intellectual thinking, and the tone of public discourse in America, throughout the 20th Century?
How can anyone brush aside the affect that print-based magazines like Rolling Stone, Hot Rod, Playboy, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Vogue, The New Yorker, Fortune, Newsweek, Esquire, Ebony, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated — and a whole slew of others — have had in mixing the melting pot that is now America, and the rest of the world?
So, why specifically are print-based magazines the center of the media universe on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB?
— Well, first of all — I don’t know about you, but… I LOVE THE COVERS!
— I mean, the majority of magazine publishers put so much time and effort into their magazine covers… They really create some wonderful and compelling art. — Which is something that I really wanted to infuse dramatically into the media search experience here on the Hub. — And so I really hope to one day soon, be able to bring you ALL OF IT… right there… on The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB.
But, what other reasons do I have for putting print-based magazines on a pedestal on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB?
— Because of History… and Heritage…
— Because of the roles that print-based magazines have played in the past — in the coffee houses, and in the beauty parlors and barber shops… and in the trenches and easy chairs, of countless millions of people around the globe, over the past 100 hundred years or so… — And of the continued roles that magazines play in the media mix today, as well as the roles that they want to continue to play, in society in the future…
— Because of their tenacity in getting their stories out, that drives them to keep publishing print-based media, and going through the added hassle of distributing their publications to subscribers and newsstands… just to put a physical product of thought, insights, and experience, into the hands of people who desire them… — Amongst other media formats, this alone warrants putting them into a class unto themselves, and holding them out as exceptional, amongst other media formats that are available on the World Wide Web.
— Because of their presence in both the offline world, and the online world… — A presence that adds great color to the world, and to our lives… — The affect that print-based magazines have on the world is undeniable! — As we pass by magazine racks on the street, and in the stores… — As we pass by a friend’s coffee table, and get a glimpse of what defines them as a person, because of what they’re interested in reading about. — Illustrated by the types of print-based magazines that they buy and subscribe to. — The fact that these print-based media brands have such a far-reaching impact in the offline world, sets them distinctly above internet-only media brands — or at least should — in my opinion.
— And last but not least —
— Because print-based magazines and their media brands, seem to have largely gotten lost in the shuffle — so to speak — as the world has moved more and more to the information super-highway (the internet), for their news and information needs.
The impetus for my decision to begin building the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB in the first place, was because I discovered first-hand that it could often be quite difficult to find the official websites of magazines, on the algorithmic search engines of the information super-highway (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) . — And, I just felt… that there needed to be an off-ramp of sorts put in place to this exceptionally influential media channel — ( “The World of Magazines” ) — that would make it easier for people using the internet, to find the official websites of print-based magazines, as well as other specific media types and formats online.
I guess that what I was really yearning for, and what I’ve tried to encapsulate in the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… was better organization on the internet. — As well as an interface that was more colorful… and compelling… and full of art… than the simple text-based results pages of the algorithmic search engines…
— An interface that I (as in I myself) — and hopefully others — would find more visually appealing and stimulating… as we sought out the news, and information, and resources, that we wanted to explore on the internet for ourselves, on a day-to-day basis… (Yes, I’ve been building it to suit myself predominately, but I think (hope) you’re going to love it as well).
— An interface that would make it easier to find and access ALL of the most relevant web-based resources available, on a category-by-category, and format-by-format basis… so that no matter what category of interest you might be interested in surfing or exploring — and no matter which media format you might prefer to explore, at any given moment — you could do it easier and more enjoyably — from any category page of the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB!
— An interface that would make it “Easier… More Enjoyable… and Much More FUN and EXCITING, for People Everywhere… to “Explore Life and the World Around Us”… through the World of Magazines, Periodicals, and Media Online.” — As well as do, whatever it is that you might like to do… on the internet!
But, don’t get me wrong — I think that Google, and Yahoo!, and Bing, and the rest of the algorithmic search engines, have done some truly wondrous and highly admirable work, in creating search tools that help people in navigating the vast expanses of the internet. However, they’re not perfect. — People still run into problems finding specific websites that they know must exist… and the official websites of magazines are a prime example of this.
The algorithms used by the algorithmic search engines sometimes simply get you into the ballpark, but leave you digging through multiple results pages of magazine subscription sales sites… articles and news about the magazine, or certain staff members… as well as highly suspect “knock-off sites”, that somehow have higher page rankings than the official websites of the actual magazines themselves!
It can be quite frustrating — to say the least! — and as I said, that was the whole reason I began building the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB in the first place! — To provide a resource that would “bridge the gap” between the algorithmic search engines and the official websites of magazines, and provide a place where one could go to specifically seek out the official websites of magazines alphabetically or by category of interest. — It was only later — during development — that the concept of MAG-NET morphed into a directory-based search engine and media portal called The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB… — One that includes ALL forms of media, and seeks to provide a “Web Search Experience” that is second to none.
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is a “Grand Vision” that has a long way to go, but we will eventually get there.
It starts with magazines… and centers around magazines — but it will eventually include every media format imagineable — including blogs!
(The proposed list currently includes: Print-Based Magazines, Online Magazines, Newspapers, Newsletters, Audio-Based Media, Video-Based Media, Television, Radio, Blogs, Movies and Films, Music, Art, Photography,Video Games, Media Apparel, and more! — However — while I wish we were further along than we actually are — we’re currently only set up to offer you access to Print-Based Magazines in the signature way that we’ll be linking to media sites online… — And even then — it’s without all of the cover art that will truly make the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB the web search experience that we envision, and can’t wait to show you — but can’t make available until we’ve gotten permission from all of the magazines publishers, to do so. (— Like I said… We’ve got a long way to go!))
If you’re a Magazine Publisher: — “Become Part of the Experience! — come and get your publication registered and properly set up on the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB! — “FREE listing options are available to ALL legitimate print-based magazines, and are a great way to promote your magazine titles, and make them openly available and easier to find on the internet! So, don’t delay… Do it today!
— And if you’re simply someone who likes to surf, and explore, and do research on the web: Come on by and see what the MAG-NET MEDIA HUB might have to offer you!
The MAG-NET MEDIA HUB is FREE… OPEN TO THE PUBLIC… and FIT FOR ALL AGES! So, please… feel free to stop by and check us out at http://www.mag-netmediahub.com. We’d love to have you pay us a visit!
